Itinerary
·
Today, your safari adventure begins! After breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your hotel around 8:00 am for a two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. You'll reach the park gate around 10:00 am and, after check-in, start your game drive. Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant herds and tree-climbing lions, as well as wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and hippos. The park is also home to unique baobab trees, some over 8,000 years old. Lunch will be enjoyed at the Tarangire River picnic site, with expansive views over the plains. Afterward, continue with a game drive until late evening, then head to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you'll leave the lodge and descend the Crater. You'll enjoy an incredible full-day game drive inside this UNESCO World Heritage site. As you descend the crater, be prepared to be amazed by its breathtaking landscape and beauty. Ngorongoro is home to an extraordinary array of wildlife, including the legendary Big Five animals (lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos). With our experienced guide, you will set out to witness these animals, especially the rare and difficult-to-find black rhinos. In the afternoon, you will pause for lunch at the Hippo Pool picnic site, which is inhabited by a herd of hippos and offers panoramic views of the crater. After lunch, you will proceed to explore the park. Later, you'll ascend the crater and return to your overnight accommodation in Arusha.
We wake up early and have breakfast. After breakfast begin our journey to the Materuni Waterfalls. This tour offers a distinctly different experience from the safari trip. The hike to the waterfall is a medium-level walk through the plantations, local villagers’ houses, local pubs, etc. The hiking itself is very refreshing, especially after long hours spent in the car during the safari. Thereafter, the coffee tour provides you with rare and delightful moments with the villagers as they teach you to make local organic coffee using local tools, highly motivational local songs, and even dancing! After that, you will have a freshly made cup of organic coffee with less caffeine and an incredible taste. Lastly, we will have a variety of freshly made local food by the Chagga women before departing for the Airport or accommodation.

“We would like to tell you that the 3days experience with your tour company was such a nice! We have 2 amazing days with your guide Godfri in safari. He told us so much information, he was also very kind and friendly and he showed us what we wanted and even more! Fabian and that day at coffee farm and waterfall was so amazing as well! Fabian was full of energy and also gave us so much information about the place and life in Tanzania. We would love to tell you or to your director that those 2 guides are totally amazing and we really appreciate that we had them as guides☺️. Thank you once again. Anna & her family”
Unforgettable Safari Trip with an amazing guide!
“Our recent safari trip, undertaken by a group of five, was a journey to remember. From start to finish, this adventure exceeded our expectations and introduced us to the wonders of Tanzania's remarkable national parks. We were fortunate to have an exceptional guide, Ali Hassan, and our journey allowed us to witness four of the "Big Five" animals while exploring some incredible destinations.
Our adventure began in Arusha, where we were warmly welcomed and prepared for an unforgettable journey. Our first destination was Tarangire National Park on the first day, and it left us in awe of the diverse wildlife and beautiful landscapes. Our comfortable lodge provided the perfect base to relax after a day of adventure.
On the second day, we found ourselves at the renowned Ngorongoro National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The day was filled with thrilling wildlife encounters and stunning vistas, including a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater. Our guide's extensive knowledge and passion for conservation enhanced our experience as we witnessed lions, elephants, buffalos, and giraffes in their natural habitat.
Our final day was equally captivating as we explored a coffee plantation and reveled in the beauty of a magnificent waterfall. Learning about the local coffee production and tasting freshly brewed coffee was a treat for our senses. The visit to the waterfall provided a refreshing and picturesque end to our safari adventure.
Throughout our journey, our guide's dedication to making our safari special was truly commendable. The game drives were a highlight, offering unforgettable wildlife encounters during their most active times. The evenings spent by the campfire, filled with stories and stargazing, added a magical touch to our adventure.
Our group also had the privilege of engaging with the Maasai community and learning about their traditions, which was a humbling cultural experience. This safari offered the perfect blend of adventure and cultural immersion.
In summary, our safari was a remarkable journey that allowed our group of five to connect with Africa's wilderness. Outstanding guides, incredible wildlife, and comfortable lodgings at each destination made it an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend this safari to anyone looking for an adventure that renews your appreciation for nature and the diversity of Africa. It's a trip that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.”
Unique expérience!
“My girlfriend and I booked 3 days of excursions with Topy tours (Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Materuni).
These 3 days were amazing and varied! The first two days, accompanied by Assad, our guide, we had the chance to discover two of the most beautiful safaris in Tanzania! Assad was excellent, he knows the parks perfectly and made us go through different roads to avoid the multitude of tourists.
The crater of Ngorongoro is just incredible and full of animals of all kinds.
Finally, on the last day we visited the village of Materuni, accompanied by Manfred and God, a local guide. Really nice, they took us to the incredible waterfall 30 minutes walk from the village. We also shared a delicious and very pleasant meal, quiet perched in the mountains.
If we had to add a small negative comment, we were still very disappointed with the visit of a "Massai village". This is not included in the stay, and has nothing authentic. The inhabitants, after a small dance, brought us into the village, with the sole purpose of robbing us. Very oppressive, they are only after our money, it was not a very pleasant experience.
However, despite this little incident, we still had an incredible experience that we will not soon forget!
We highly recommend!”
Dreams come true
“We (6 persons, 3 couples) chose 3-Day Wildlife & Kilimanjaro Experience and we enjoyed it so much. Our guide picked up one day before at the airport and took us to our hotel. Our tour started next day and it was amazing from the first hour. Guide was really great. He stopped everywhere we wanted (market etc). When we were on safari he showed us everything what we could see (lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, zebras, hippos, hyenas, wildbeests, rhino…) . He found the best place for stop everytime. We would like to thank him, again. We spent with him 3 amazing days. Last day was different, but also super. Materuni watterfall and coffee farm were also experience for us. Another great thing was food. Chief prepared for us delicious meal everytime. And the last thing (but also very important) - we want to thank Jackson - the communication with him was also great. There was no problem with this company, Jackson or someone else. We spent 3 AMAZING days and we can recommend it to everyone. Thank you guys, dreams came true!”
Highly Recommended
“We booked the “3-Days Wildlife and Kilimanjaro Safari” with Jackson and it was wonderful! We saw a lot of animals and the tour in general was really well planned. We were picked up on time and even though it was our first time in Africa, everything worked out as planned! I also compared several different agencies but the price-performance ratio here is unbeatable. Would definitely recommend a trip with Jackson, as he is a really friendly, helpful and trustworthy Guide and even showed us some nice spots in Arusha on the day we arrived :)”
Common questions
It is a focused sampler covering Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Materuni. Longer trips add Serengeti time if you want more depth.
No. You visit the Materuni area for waterfalls and local scenery near Kilimanjaro rather than a summit climb.
The excursion is based around Arusha with park days out and return to Arusha at the end.
Comfortable walking shoes, light clothing and a rain layer help for the waterfall paths.
