Night game drives in Tarangire give you a chance to experience the bush in a completely different way. As the sun goes down, the landscape becomes quieter, the stars come out, and animals that hide during the day begin to move around. With a guide and a spotlight, you head out into the darkness, watching the tracks and bushes for signs of wildlife.
You might spot bush babies jumping between trees, a genet crossing the track, or a porcupine searching for food. Sometimes, you may even come across predators moving through the bush at night. Every drive is different, and you never quite know what you will see, which makes the experience exciting.
Night drives are only allowed in certain areas around Tarangire, depending on the lodge or concession. If they are available during your stay, they are a great way to add something special to your safari and discover a side of the African wilderness that most daytime visitors never get to see.
